Hey Grand Strand friends -
This week, we’ve got a few local recommendations (a bar with the BEST SANDWICHES!) and upcoming fall festivals to check out. Plus an easy fall side recipe you can make a million times.
What is your favorite fall event? Comment + share! Cheers to fall, y’all 🥂

Sandwich Heaven
Where: Village Bar & Grill
Why: It looks like a hole in the wall (and it is) but the food is legit. This is not your average crappy bar food scene. This place takes the menu seriously and the casual atmosphere makes it a fun place for a beer, sandwich, and a game on the weekends. The service is friendly and fast. The chopped Italian sub and the steak sandwiches are the best at the beach. Foodies, you’ll love this spot!
Go: Village Bar & Grill, 3821 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

Oyster + Culture Date
A Charleston Day Date: go to an afternoon show at Gaillard Center followed by drinks + oysters at Delaney Oyster House around the corner
Upcoming Shows at Gaillard Center:

Smithey Skillet Carrots
Carrots to buy: Costco is serving us all a gift with their multi-colored carrots—perfect for when you want a side dish that’s both vibrant and delicious.
Shop for: Put the carrots in a Smithey skillet with a little olive oil and butter and let the magic happen. Made in Charleston, these cast iron beauties aren’t just heirloom kitchen jewelry; they’re your new favorite skillet for cooking everything delicious.
How to make: Keep the heat low, and drizzle some olive oil with a little butter in your skillet. Toss in the carrots—no need to overthink it. Salt, pepper, done. Keep it going. Add more butter and olive oil as needed. When the carrots look cooked and a little charred, drizzle some hot honey over them. Voilà ! You've got a side dish that’s as easy as it is fabulous. (save for later: smithey skillet carrots recipe)
Serve with: grilled pork tenderloin + green beans + salad + a good California Pinot Noir
