Rosés for summer
Cheers to rosé season!!!! Here are our favorites rosés from Provence …
First things first. What pairs best with rosé?
Sunny days
Seafood dishes like salmon, shrimp, scallops, and crab
Worn-in Rainbow sandals
Goat Cheese + Crackers
A chill Bossa Nova playlist + friends
Chateau D’Esclans Backstory
Have I heard about this winery? Yep, you’ve probably heard of the popular Whispering Angel from Chateau D’Esclans.
Who started the rosé trend? Wine legend Sacha Lichine set out to create the best rosés in the world in 2006, and ignited the rosé all day trend we now enjoy during sunny months. Typically rosé is the after-product at a winery, but Sacha decided that Chateau D’Esclans in Provence, France would grow grapes for rosé and produce only rosé … and it shows in all of their wines.
Should I rosé all day? Obviously, YES. Rosé is the wine for sunshine. ‘Tis the season for boats, pools, beach days, snackleboxes, and picnics.
Chateau D’Esclans Cotes Provence Rose
Tell me about it: Chateau D'Esclans Cotes Provence Rose is a higher end rosè, and it is superb. This is one of the higher end wines the winery produces. It doesn’t have that tart tanginess that accompany some rosès, and is smooth and drinkable and worth every penny! Definitely add this to your wine cooler for a boat or beach day.
Have a wine night in: You can find Chateau D’Esclans at Total Wine for $49.
Chateau D'Esclans Whispering Angel Rose
Tell me about it: The OG rosé. Tastes like peaches and strawberries, but is not sweet. It’s the perfect picnic wine for a beach, boat or pool afternoon.
Where can I try it? Sip Whispering Angel at Chive Blossom in Pawleys Island, The Parson’s Table in Little River, Franks on Front in Georgetown, Franks and Franks Outback in Pawleys Island, and Bin 2004 Wine & Tapas Restaurant (the new location)
Have a Wine Night In: You can find Whispering Angel at many grocery stores and at Total Wine for $16.99
Chateau D'Esclans The Beach Rose
Tell me about it: Take it to the beach. Subtle, relaxed, and smooth like a Bossa Nova playlist and tastes like melons. And, if you love design and pick wine by the prettiest label … The Beach has a cool Palm Beach-y label.
Where can I try it? Order The Beach The Quay Seafood Grille in Garden City, King Street Grille at The Market Common, Damon’s Oceanfront in Myrtle Beach, Franks and Franks Outback in Pawleys Island, Hot Tomato in Myrtle Beach, Hurricane Juel’s in Little River, the new Koi in Myrtle Beach, and Drift- A Coastal Eatery in Myrtle Beach
Have a Wine Night In: You can find The Beach at Total Wine for $14.99
