Weekend Guide: A crazy Jaws 🦈 movie night, restaurants to try, and more things to do this weekend
July 12, 2024 • Weekend Wine List
This newsletter helps me discover the cool, wacky, and fun events happening around town. I’ve highlighted one that I find both intriguing and terrifying - watching Jaws while sitting on a paddleboard. Would you keep your toes in the water!? 🦈 Please share in the comments!
As always, thanks for reading + sharing! Always feel free to send me an email if you think an event should be included, or have a restaurant rec you think we should try. Leave a comment or send an email!
📆 Events + Things to Do Weekend

BRUNCH
Where: Johnny D’s Waffles & Benedicts
Why: this isn’t your normal Myrtle Beach pancake house. The menu is extensive and includes decadent options like chocolate banana coconut waffles. The egg section of the menu is just as elaborate as the sweet section: omelets, benedicts, and regular egg platters... the options are nearly overwhelming, so just choose one and go back again to try the others later.
When: If you get to the restaurant before 8:45ish, you’re more likely to get a table without waiting because this spot is POPULAR (and for good reasons!)
Order: the pork belly veggie hash, an insanely tasty breakfast creation that’s on the brunch menu.
Go: 📍Johnny D’s in Myrtle Beach, 3301 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 (or one of the other locations)

HAPPY HOUR
What: Drinks + apps at Bimini’s Oyster Bar
Why: Because it’s a Myrtle Beach staple for locals + vacationers, and everyone loves it.
When: It’s packed by 4:30 p.m., so saddle up at the bar before then or wait for a table!
Order: alllll the happy hour apps including oysters, fried shrimp, seafood nachos, and $1 off draft beers.
Go: 📍Bimini’s Oyster Bar, 930 Lake Arrowhead Road, Myrtle Beach, SC, 29572
JAWS ON THE WATER EXPERIENCE
What: “Jaws is scary enough on its own - but imagine watching it while bobbing on open water on a paddle board or in a float, your feet dangling into reach of untold marine terrors. That’s the Jaws On The Water experience: a true must-do for any fans of film, fun, or fish.” (OMG)
Why: Because dangling your toes in the water while watching people get eaten by sharks on the big screen sounds like a fun time.
When: Saturday, July 13 at 9 p.m.
Tickets: Jaws on the Water Experience
