Heyyyy friends! Can you believe we’re at the peak of summer? This week, we are highlighting a few day trip picks: Southport + Wilmington, two cute coastal towns in North Carolina less than two hours from central Myrtle Beach. Plus, a few fun things to do this weekend including the National Hammock Day Festival featuring two iconic beach music bands.

Why: Wilmington's Wilson Center Beckons! You love live music + musicals, so you need to check out this top-notch performing arts center that’s a quick and easy drive from Myrtle Beach (just over an hour!)

Where: a day trip to Southport, NC (about an hour and a half from Myrtle Beach)
Why: It’s the cutest little NC coastal town with local shops, a cool foodie scene, and friendly, walkable downtown area
Try: Cafe Koa, which serves up fresh salads, tacos, and dishes with a Hawaiian vibe and has the coolest colorful + vibrant decor
Order: trash can nachos! Everyone at the bar recommended - and they did NOT disappoint!

Why: Step Up Your Game. Shoe shopping is always a good idea, and this long-time North Myrtle Beach comfort shoe store has a new local owner! Plus, the helpful staff can help pick out the perfect shoe for you - and tell you if the shoe fits or to try another size.
Try on: On Clouds because they are the cool new sneaker (and they are comfortable) - Shoe Center has a HUGE selection! For running and working out? Try on Brooks because you’ll feel like you’re walking on marshmallows. Looking for cute shoes? You’ll find plenty of women’s sandals, men’s shoes, and even cute Pickleball shoes.
