What: Throw your old socks into a bonfire, raise money for the South Carolina Maritime Museum, enjoy food + drinks, and listen to live music
Donate Socks: New socks can be dropped off at the museum the entire month of March for the Friendship Place
The Backstory: “While working on boats all winter, Captain Bob Turner – now a Pawleys Island resident – collected sawdust, bottom paint, caulk, and other boatyard leavings on his socks. In other words, his socks would stand up when he took them off at night. One year, on the first day of spring, he took off his socks, put them in a paint tray, sprinkled on some lighter fluid, lit them, and then had a beer to celebrate. And so the tradition began, and there are now sock burnings in coastal communities across the country.”

Bo Time Wine Night
Yep, every Southerner's favorite tailgate food is wine-friendly. And can you get an easier idea for a dinner party than a big family box of fried chicken and sides?
Fried food in general pairs nicely with sparkling wines.
Sommelier Brendan O’leary explains, "The acidity in the wine perfectly cuts through the grease, the brioche yeastiness goes amazing with the umami flavors, and the fine bubbles compliment the crunchy exterior. It's probably not the most popular pairing, but it's one of the best I've come across."
In other words, the sparkles and the salty crunch are made for each other.
What wines should you open with Bojangles Fried Chicken?
Here are a few sparkling wines you can find at Total Wine + local grocery stores for your Bo Time Wine Night!
